Hello,
I have a sony vaio laptop which came with a pre-installed windows 8 OS. I recently upgraded it to windows 8.1. After the upgrade, I have observed that many softwares that are actually installed on the system are not listed in the apps list, such as Microsoft office, autocad, freemake, etc. It becomes really inconvenient to open any new file of these softwares.
Can anyone help me fix this issue?
Thank You

as already said link not working ,if you downloaded programs and installed them and there is no icon in allapps or start screen ,then you can go to the program Files folder on C:\,and find the folder of the app you installed and right click on it .exe run file and pin it to start,if that is not you issue then Im lost!!

Hello,
Thnx for your replies.. I am sorry about the attachment. I have reattached it (refer file name - app screen). I dont have any problem with my start screen. I am facing problems with "Apps List" where all the applications installed on the computer should be found; the "Apps list" which is accessed by clicking on the down arrow that appears on the lower left corner of the start screen.
My problem is that despite the fact softwares are installed on my system, a FEW of them dont appear in the "Apps List", such as microsoft office, google drive, freemake, etc. I can pin these particular softwares to the start screen from accessing this link - C:\Program Files (x86). But I dont wish to pin them to start screen, I wish to see them is "Apps List".
On Caperjack's Suggestion, when I accessed this link - C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu, I made following observation:
For softwares which does not appear on the "apps list" (though they are installed on the system) such as google drive, the specific icon of the software does not display, instead a general blank icon appears (refer picture 1b). For softwares which appear on the "apps list" such as AVG, the specific icon of the software do appear. (refer picture 2).
Note: The softwares which does not appear in apps list work perfectly fine otherwise.
