The best is to wait for a BSOD. I could probably provide tons of suggestions if you provide a new zip, but many of them (if not all) won't even be closely related to your problem.

just a side question...the other day my laptop got knocked off a table onto the floor....I went to reboot it and it refused to turn on.
After pulling both the main battery and the smaller backup battery out and replacing them it booted up fine again....is it possible pulling the batteries could have solved this issue? I havent had a bsod yet, so as you said you cant tell for sure from the logs without one. just asking if its possible

I know that when a battery is failing it can cause all sorts of issues, before I replaced the battery of my laptop it could easily shutdown the system at around 80%.
There are dozens of reports on the internet about replacing or pulling the battery/batteries somehow resolving various of issues, I personally wouldn't get my hopes up but there is a possibility yes.

Ok update: Out of curiosity, I fired up the original program that caused the bsod to begin with (firestorm viewer for sl). its currently been up and running longer than it has been since this whole mess started. Still not considering things solved 100 percent yet but its a good sign yes? do you think its safe to switch back to my avast antivirus? (been using windows defender temporarily).

ok not sure if this is a related issue or not....but my free space on my computer is dropping at a crazy rate....I deleted a 7 gig folder earlier (vid files and photos from an old camera). showed as 20 gig free before and 20 gig after, and its slowly dropping lower and lower its down to 9 gig. any idea? if this is a different issue entirely let me know your thoughts and ill create a new thread about this.

It is a different issue yes, but have a look at your system restore settings as that can swallow space in no time.
If the system restore settings are fine, I suggest downloading WinDirStat which provides insight into the disk usage.
