So basically I have an annoying notification near the bottom right corner of the screen, it affects fullscreen programs the most and I generally find it distracting. capslock.png Before someone wastes their time telling me to go into regedit and look for the widcomm folder, I don't have one, also most likely any control panel toggle someone thinks may work, I've probably already tried it lol.

Thanks:mad::p

Laptop or desktop PC? It's likely part of the software for your keyboard. My Logitech keyboard does that. I can turn off the on screen notification in the Setpoint settings. If its a laptop it's probabaly part of the hotkey software. It's what controls what happens when you press an F key. Stuff like screen brightness, sound volume, etc. The ICON for it may be in the notifications area down by the clock. You may have to press the up arrow to see it.

It's a desktop and I'm using the most generic Dell keyboard, don't think it even has software

Did the keyboard come with the PC? Something is doing it and as far as I know its not a default Windows 8 feature. Something third party is likely doing it.

Nope, got the tower unit on it's own, I'm sure it is software, I'm hoping someone has had the exact same problem as seen in the image so I can find out what it is

Yes its software. Open taskmanager and have a look under the startup tab. There is a good chance it's listed there. You can then disable it there and see if the on screen notification goes away. If that's not the program then just enable it again.

The nice thing about disabling it there is, if it causes a side effect that breaks something else you can easily turn it back on again. Once your satisfied that you actually don't need it you can just uninstall it.
