Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio SVE15113ENB laptop. It had windows 7 before but last month I purchased Windows 8.1 upgrade key. But instead of upgrading I downloaded the iso and then did a clean install. I don´t know if the problem is only with sony vaio´s that if you dont follow the proper procedure not all driver install properly. The same has happened with me. The sound driver is installed but does very feeble sound. As the vaio has this xLoud volume booster, it hasnt installed properly. So my question is whether I could use the windows 8.1 key I purchased to install windows 8.

Hope to hear from the experts here.

Thank you

If you want to downgrade to Windows 8.0. then no, the 8.1 key will not work.

Unless there is compelling evidence that the 8.0 drivers work better, perhaps it would be better try re-installing various driver versions, if not the the OS itself.
