Hi Sir/Maam,

I am using windows 8 and I am having problem with my 4TB Seagate external hard drive. It suddenly cannot be viewed in My Computer but can be viewed in the device manager.

1. First, when i plug the external drive, it does not appear in:
a. My Computer - no display
b. Disk Management - no display
c. Device Manager - "Seagate Backup is displayed".

2. Second, for the drive to appear in Disk Management, i need to update the driver. Once updated thru manually updating it below is the result:
a. My Computer - no display
b. Disk Management - now appears>> with "unallocated"
c. Device Manager - "Seagate Backup is displayed".

3. Third, I will intend to initialize the Seagate external harddrive (desperation move already) in the Disk management because it is now displayed.
However, after choosing the GPT, it takes a couple of minutes and takes a while then a message prompt like this "The Device is not ready"
note:
Drive is offline
Drive is unallocated
Drive is unknown
Drive memory is displayed.
