Security Essentials being turned off by Malwarebytes?

I originally understood that these two were good to run together, but lately, MWB appears to be turning off Microsoft Security Essentials and unless I turn off MWB, there's no way to turn Essentials back on again.

Should I not be running them at the same time?

I paid for MWB, so which one is best protection for all aspects of security on my PC? If I have to pick only one, which should I use?

You shouldnt have to active AVs running at the same time as they interfer with each other. You can do scans with a second AV as long as its not running. I would stick with Malwarebytes and run a scan with SE once a week

Thanks. What's wrong with scanning with MWB?

Then it would be better to run Security Essentials in real time - it takes up less resources? ( MWB seems to really slow the PC down ) As long as it covers things as well?

And if Security Essentials scans as well as MWB, there'd be no point in keeping MWB. Does anyone know?

There are specific threats like malware, virus etc some products are designed to find certain sorts of threats some act only on browsers while they all do there best some work better on some threats than others so scanning with a different product is a good idea. There so many new threats daily no company can keep a database UpTo date some products now use online databases from other companies so scanning with multi databases
