Now windows denfender. willnot let me turn on the protection.
The buttons on the two items antivirus and the malware buttons that is are not clickable.
Any who can help I will be greatful.

I'm assuming you Restarted and still WD won't work; a work-around for now would be to download, install, use MSE/Microsoft Essential Security until a WD solution is found. You have already went through Action Center and tried to turn on WD there, correct?

Also, my bad! Windows 8 & 10 really do not use MSE; disregard my idea of pulling down MSE.
