Supported Antimalware Apps For Windows 8 Release Preview

We recommend that you use an antimalware app to help protect your PC from malware and other potentially harmful software, and that you keep the app up to date. Windows Defender is a feature of Windows 8 and is enabled by default in Windows 8 Release Preview. If you prefer to use any of the antimalware apps listed on this page, Windows Defender will silently turn itself off so that the antimalware app you choose can help protect your PC.

Microsoft is actively working with antimalware app developers, including those listed on this page, to ensure the availability of high-quality antimalware apps on Windows 8.

On my Window 8 I am running Norton IS 2013 Beta, Malwarebytes Pro, and WinPatrol and all are working great.

I use Secure Webroot and Advanced Systemcare with Aniti-Virus and have had no problems in the RP.

I guess I'm going to kick the tires out with Kaspersky 2013. The 2012 version was great, but still has the eventual boot time degradation. So I'll see if 2013 has fixed that.

I'll stick with Windows Defender. Had peaceful days so far.

I was running NIS 2013 Beta but it expired so I am trying Windows Defender. Is there a scheduled scan setup? I can't find any options for that.

Hey Jim! They're currently beta testing Bull Guard security suite, go grab that instead, so-far it is pretty full flavored security suite, and works well.

I couldn't find an option to schedule scans.
I set up a scheduled task to run a scan and it looks like that works.
