    Please clarify:

    - The download has a shield which contains an app ? Or what app are you running ?

    - Why do you want to disable firewall ?

    - Have you scanned with your AV ?

    - In the interim, run AdwCleaner https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewd.../1-adwcleaner/

Firstly my teamspeak app isn't working and has a blue and yellow shield in the bottom right corner of the application when it's on my desktop

secondly I wanted to disable firewall because I personally thought that it was causing the problem

thirdly I have scanned with my av and it had picked up nothing

i will try that last fix soon if it works thanks for the help

firewalls do not cause problems, if anything its app setting, or maybe you need to give the app permission to pass through the firewall. Anything that has the potential to link with various unknown sources is a possible danger to the pc. I tried teamspeak once for some reason I cant recall I did not like whatever it was doing so quickly binned it.

your AV wont pick anything up until the software is active, if it picks up anything at all. It would have warned you when you were downloading/installing if anything was there. As TS is an internet programme I would think it would need to be live first.

I use AVG Internet Suite 2015, it has not been beaten yet.

try uninstalling it using iobit uninstaller (free), which will also remove anything 'accidentally left behind' and then reinstall watching every tick box and suchlike, see what then transpires.
