So I have a Samsung SSD sitting around and I've been really bored so I ordered parts for a new system to stick that SSD in to. Parts are coming in and I also ordered Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit. I am a BIOS guy, but I want to install Windows 8.1 in UEFI to get my feet wet (and always good to learn new things, right?). But I came across some articles about this "Secure Boot" in the UEFI settings. I saw mixed reviews about the performance of this so I came here to see what the folks here think about it.
Does it speed things up or not?
I have some Z77 boards which do have Secure Boot, but they are disabled. But I am interested about this for this Windows 8.1 machine.
The parts I ordered are:
AsRock Z97 Extreme4
8GB memory
Core i7 4790
Looking forward to some responses. Thanks
