UAC playing up

Hope somebody can help me with this. For a couple of weeks now it is impossible for me to install programs, delete them, update them etc. Everytime the UAC popup menu shows up alerting me if I want to allow changes to be made to the system and it asks me for a password. But here's the thing. The user account was not set up by me or by any other member of the family. The user account is called SONOS (from the wireless speaker system). Since the account is not set up by us, I do not know the password. I have tried to change the UAC settings but again this popup menu pops up. I've tried via CMD to rename the password (via net user sonos * ) but I need to be in administrator mode to do this but when trying to access it as administrator I am denied because of this popup showing up. I have deleted Sonos from the registry and after a few tries it was indeed deleted from the registry but it didn't solve my problem. Basically any time I want changes to be made to my laptop this pops up and I can't find a way to bypass it or better yet, to get rid of it.

Anybody out there who has had similar issues and was able to sort it?

Can't help you with a password, seems signed in under this user account it made, not administrative account be able to make changes or need give permission to the account or files. Maybe someone else knows this better.

A password set in the UAC is done through secpol.msc, unfortunately in order to change this back you will need to know the password. This process is not been easy since Windows 7 days, XP would have been easy to fix however one could argue this function to be a security issue in XP.

Unless I am given more permission by a moderator on the subject I will not go into depth on how to fix your problem, there is a way but borders hacking. Hint: Rainbow Tables.

Any way to contact you? Don't really want to clean the laptop. If it was mine I wouldn't that much, but it is my wife's and don't want to loose anything she has gathered up over the years.

UAC - dont use it; damn nuisance.

Try creating new admin account; then go into UAC and disable it - just a thought

always backup important files, documents and so on, on a external drive or flash drive.
Do not think anyone does over the phone help here.

I don't expect over the phone help but if he has a possible solution without the nuisance of wiping clean the laptop I prefer that. I have backed up important files but I find that especially with e-mails there is always something going wrong. I just don't understand that if nobody of the family has created this admin account with SONOS at that, how this has been created?

Simple backup, use MS One Drive, big enough for any laptop I keep thousands of images up there
