Kaspersky

I have Kaspersky and when I allowed it to run unabated, it would go into a loop when I would start MS Outlook. I reported the problem to Kaspersky Tech Support and they told me to disable the email portion and that there would be a fix out in May. It is now June and no one at Kaspersky seems to know anything when I just talked to them. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks and make sure that you have a great day!

Your best bet is their forums. This sounds like an issue that's Kaspersky specific. Have you considered a different Anti Virus? Otherwise keep contacting their tech support, last I checked it's not free. That usually qualifies you for free tech support which is such a valuable tool.

This is a known problem with the latest released version of Kaspersky 2015. There is meant to be a fix coming, but it seems to get put back (from early May to mid-June, for a problem identified back in February...). Apparently it's fixed in the 2016 version. The workaround is to either disable the Email part of the program of your current version, or go back a version (15.0.1.* or the 2014 versions will do; both still supported with database updates). Here's a nice long topic on the Kaspersky forum about the issue and various workarounds.

Considering how long the fix for this crippling issue has taken (four months now...), it does make one wonder about Kaspersky. Still, other than that issue, which I worked around by going back to the 2014 version, the rest of the product seems to work fine on my machine.
