    what is it this warning ? backup encryption key pop up


    hi
    for the first time after almost 2 years i got a warning about backup the encryption key
    i have never used bitlocker or truecrypt

    look the screenshots please

    in english is " back up the encryption key file"

    hi
    i forget , it start to happen after the last updates
    it pops up at every boot
    never used bitlocker never,what could be?

    i have never encrypted files , maybe i download some encrypted files , don't know even how find them

    Hello Drugo,

    Agreed. It appears that you may have encrypted files with NTFS Encryption. You can use the method in the tutorial below to see if you do have any encrypted files on your drive.

    Encrypted Files - Find All on the Local Hard Drives - Windows 7 Help Forums

    If you do, you could either decrypt them, or back up the certificate.

    i got only this
    C:\Users\Myname\AppData\Roaming\FastPictureViewer\Geocache\ReverseGeocache.dat
    i run cmd like administrator , but does cipher /U /N /H > %UserProfile%\Desktop\Encrypted-Files.txt search for encrypt file for all my hard disks ? if i have an external hard disk us3 , does this command check all the files inside my external hard disk ?

    It'll search all your local drives (internal and external) that use the NTFS file system for encrypted files.

    You could decrypt the file to not have to worry about it anymore.

    but i tried the command line in w7 too , but it told me unknow command line , why?

    yes , i decrypt the file perfecltly under w8.1
    i tried the command line under w7 but cipher is located C:\windows\system32 and c:\windows\syswow64
