Curious One - I was also leery. Filippo name sounds like an attempt to make user think it is filehippo, a trusted site.

Is the above certificate notice from your AV ? If so, what AV ? Windows Defender did not block/warn on my system.

I think I was using Firefox and have Avast running. I'm not sure but I think it was Firefox that flagged the certificate.

Maybe you were using IE. It has poor security.

My Computer

I was either using IE or Chrome.

How would you compare Chrome vs Firefox for security ? Not talking about tracking, just security. Thanks !

Firefox isn't as good as it used to be, but I think it's still got the edge on security.

For privacy (different topic) avoid search engines like Google and use something like Ixquick or Duckduckgo. Of course if you live on Facebook, it's too late for privacy anyway.

I've had PriviDog installed for sometime now - part of Comodo Firewall. Not really thought too much about it, no advertising noticed anywhere and it appeared to be blocking lots of tracking cookies etc.

Firefox popped up tonight with a warning with a tick box to disable the software and as I was sort of aware (without fully understanding) negative reports on the internet I disabled it. Firefox started reporting all the sites I visit including my banking as untrusted with possible forged certificates.

After updating Firefox from 35.1 to 36, everything is back to normal. I don't have the technical knowledge to know how bad PriviDog potentially was except for targeted advertising (which I didn't get any) so, I don't know if by disabling it if I've improved my safety and privacy:huh:
