hi guys

i recently heard a statement form a person that bitdefender attacks drivers ? and that its is not suited for networks.

now i dont doubt the person who made the statement from the person as he has over 20 years of experience of building windows pc's.

i have though never heard of any anti virus attacking drivers on a network .

how is this possible ??

why would any anti virus attack drivers ??

i was allways under the impression that bitdefender was one of the very best antivirusses out there.

just confused.

AVs are made to "attack" anything that messes with OS files so may be possible for their heuristics to misrepresent an wrongfully tag some driver's parts because of that. On the other hand, there could be some serious concerns if said drivers are downloaded from a place that may have added some virus and/or other nasties with driver.

does 64 bit drivers possibly represent such a situation ??

i just wondered if all the pc were 32 bit if that wouldn't solve the problem.

thanks

I don't think it makes any difference. If you get drivers from manufacturer it should be safe to override AV or put it on safe/white list.
