Virus on tablet problem

Got the FBI moneypack virus on my tablet, locked me out as soon as I log in. I have read that booting into safe mode can start the resolving process, but I can't figure out how to do it on my tablet. It's one of the unbranded ones from best buy, I can press the power and both volume buttons but all it says is that it's entering dnx mode, waiting for fastboot command, then it loads normally.

Is there a way to get it to boot in safe mode? Tried contacting the support number on unbranded, gave up after holding for 20 minutes. If I get a keyboard will it allow me to enter safe mode without needing to install any drivers?

Thank you

power + volume down gets my HP Stream into safe mode (other boot options as well) thankfully I don't know much about this

Tried that, it just loads normally without any messages, appreciate the advice though. Took it to best buy and the geek squad wanted 130 bucks to reset it. My girlfriend paid almost that much for the tablet itself.

He did hint that it could be reset though, wouldn't tell me much else

Can you get to the login screen? If so I found couple of bits of articles you might try:

If you don’t have a keyboard connected to Windows 8 tablet, you’ll need to use the on-screen keyboard to do these reset steps. From the Windows 8 sign-in screen, tap or click the Ease of access icon in the lower-left corner of the screen, and then tap or click On-Screen Keyboard.

Then to reset Windows:

Hold Shift then press Restart. You will enter the surface where three options are provided. Choose Troubleshoot Option, and then choose the first option, “Reset your PC” pops up, click “next”. Until there are two options for you, choose the second to begin factory settings restore.

Got it to work by clicking the ease of access button and accessing the keyboard. Then I held shift on that keyboard while pressing the restart option in the lower right and it brought up the menu that allowed a reset.

Thank you all so much for your help, this is awesome!
