This pop-up is driving me crazy! It pops up on the video screen I want to watch in Fox News website -- I haven't noticed it popping up on other sites as yet. It will list the site asking for permission to store information on my computer. The link I have attached below gives instructions on how to remove this pop-up. Is this flash player thing safe or is it some kind of virus or malware? The attached link refers to it as spyware. If I were to remove the Flash player program, will it affect playing games or whatever on my laptop. I need help, please.

Dynamic Spyware - Windows Techies

Thank you.

The link above is just another ad-site trying to get you into buying spyhunter. I would not do what they recommend. Can you provide the link where you get the pop up so I can try it. In addition, what browser are you using ?

OK. Using IE to access this website I've notice there's an ad that says "you can skip this ad in x seconds", you need to wait until you see "Skip this Ad" then click on it then the News will be played. Otherwise it will take you to another website. There's nothing wrong with Adobe Flash Player. This is how they designed their website, you would have the same behavior on some youtube videos also.

Personally, I don't use IE but Firefox instead. With Firefox, I can install the add-ons which will prevent this behaviour (AdBlock Popup, Adblock plus) then I would never see any of those Ad screen.

To make sure that your PC is clean, download free: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Protect, Detect & Remove Malware From Your PC
and run it. Don't buy anything !!!

Hope this helps

I downloaded the malware program, scanned and results came back.......no malware. Thanks for the link and glad my notebook is clean. Now as far as that popup which appears dead center in the video block, I can't skip the ad, the flash player won't allow me to do that........the ad will play out and then the actual video will start with the popup still in the center of the video. Did that adobe flash player pop up appear on the video you chose in fox news? After the scan, I went back into fox and finally found a phone number I can call and hopefully advise me what to do. The site that's asking me to store info on my computer is somehow related to fox news (which I failed to mention in my original post). Also, I have popups blocked on IE11 and that won't stop this adobe problem.

Thank you for your help and that malware program and our quick reply.

No, I did not have any popup you mentioned, just the ad before the actual news displayed. I suggest that you open the internet options and clear all the cache and history.

Or to make it easy, download this freeware: CleanAfterMe - Clean Registry entries and files in your system
Use as often as you wish to keep your PC clean. Personally, I use it daily to clear out everything from the internet such as Cookies, Password stored in cache, history etc...
