So I have a Win8 PC thats online 24/7, and its used mainly for remote access, light browsing etc. It also has access to my film collection via shared network drives.

Question is, would Windows defender and windows firewall be secure?

Should I go with another setup?

I did look at panda cloud. Avast I dont like the open candy links.

Thanks

For just your personal/family use I don't see it being an issue. While both may be the very barebone basic type of design they both get the intentional job done. "If you don't look for trouble you won't get any." Were the words I had a Microsoft tech tell me once which does speak truth in itself essentially.

I concur with loveandpower and would augment that with Malewarebytes. As usual practice safe surfing.
