Windows 8.1.1 and Bitdefender Total Security 2014

o.k. long story short before installing 8.1.1 in my real environment i tested it out extensively in vm. i found out that if you get past a certain point with the windows updates bitdefender will not install, if you install bd prior to a certain point it installs and works great even after you do the rest of the windows updates. anyone have any suggestion on getting it installed and working correctly in a fully updated 8.1.1? i have eset smart security in, but i'd rather have my bitdefender. thanks

I don't know if this will be the same for you. I use Bitdefender Internet Security 2014 on my Windows 8.1.1 Pro w/Media Center x64 desktop and Windows 8.1.1 x64 laptop. They both installed BIS 2014 fine. They both had new version's released some time roughly 1 1/2 to 2 week's ago. Total Security 2014 probably has a newer version, too.

regardless of of the age of the installer file bd products like most will ask you if you want to download the latest updates before installing, so no the age of my install would have nothing to do with my problem. if your interested the beta for bd total security 2015 is our and it's nice.

I have no interest in the Total Security version. I already have better maintenance utilities. My Bitdefender Internet Security still has 599 day's left on it. I got the 2-year version from Newegg for the same price Bitdefender had on their site for the 1-year version.

no luck following the instructions above. rightclicked, chose run as administrator, and once the update was done got that funky baby blue screen.
