    Local Network


    In the last day my computer has disappeared from my local network. i have itunes home sharing and folders i share from this computer but suddenly gone. It is a problem with the firewall because when i turn it off it works right. i DID NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES IN THE FIREWALL AT ALL. someone please help. Running windwows 8.1 64 bit. The only AV i am running is windows defender

    In the Windows Firewall, left pane, did you try to Troubleshoot my network or Restore Defaults.

    Also verify in Device Manager if any problems showing up for your Network Adapter and are your drivers up to date.

    Yep i did all that, so i have no choice but to turn the firewall off. I don't think it is a coincidence that this happened right after the latest big windows update

    You could use a system restore point prior to installing those updates and reinstall them one by one until you find the culprit if that is the case.

    Did you mean you had it turned off or could not find it. It is a very important system protection component of your machine.

    no system restore is off. I called Microsoft, not surprising they were not helpful

    yeah i will but still faced with this problem and no way to fix it because Microsoft and their shitty updates broke my network

    If you know which update it was, you should be able to remove it via these directions:

    Remove an update - Windows Help

    Another suggestion would be run an SFC to see if it finds a problem & can fix it.
