    Dodgy email

I received an email last night from a family member that looks "dodgy" so i never opened it but then a minute later i got one from "the Microsoft team" saying they "think someone else might has accessed the email account of this family member"

This to me seems suspect but was wanting to know if this is the correct procedure from Microsoft? as i have never seen them do that before.

if anyone has any thoughts on this i would love to hear them.

You did well not to open them. MS would not send this, especially if they tell you to log in using the direct links in the email. It is just someone probably trying to get access to your account information.

Speak to your family member if they really sent you the email.

I suggest that both you and your family do full scans with your AV program and download and run Malwarebytes (Free) to be on the safe side.

Tell your "family member" to check his/hers computer too and change all the passwords. That computer could be compromised too without them knowing it.

Oh yeah, phishing for sure. I got an email from my brother stating that he was mugged (in Ukraine). LOL I don't think so! I have Mailwasher Pro and I can see the email non-html, iow text only. So no worry about getting infected.

Yes, it does. I never click a link in an email unless I trust the sender and know where the link is actually headed.
