    Problem with possible malware:

I was about to change some folder settings when I noticed the following option:
    IMVU Inc Cb Toolbar

    (see attached screenshot)

Now I remember using a IMVU social networking platform years back and in a moment of weakness I installed this useless app. Not long after that I uninstalled it (from the Control Panel) - I am sure this is related to that install.
How do I get rid of this?

Depending on how you uninstalled it, could be leftover files. Not all files uninstall completely when you use a uninstaller. Unfortunately, some of the more persistent toolbars make a comeback.

D/L & run Malwarebytes (the free version), uncheck "start free pro trial" at the end of the installation & do a full system scan.

Another good tool for ferreting out toolbars/adware is AdwCleaner.

Re 'Onefourtwoiq' I see that what he refers to is a Website - see details below - which he may have visited and has somehow altered his settings.
IMVU, Inc. is an online social entertainment website founded in 2004, in which members use 3D avatars to meet new people, chat, create, and play games.

Hi everyone everybody says for example get rid of XP since security updates won't be supported after XP reaches EOL (End of life). However is this really relevant. If the VM is running on a HOST machine with adequate protection and the VM doesn't access the Internet is this really relevant --...
