    windows defender scheduled scan

    hi every one

recently you all gave me some help on scheduling a scan for windows defender, it has been working fine for some time
but tonight I had to scan manually because it was telling me that I was unprotected. What has happened to my
    scheduled scan.

    regards calmat

Did you by chance install CCleaner? If so, you need to uncheck Windows Defender & MS Antimalware under the Applications tab. It cleans the logs out & makes Defender think it hasn't run a scan in a while.

    Also, see this post:

You may not have to, but it would be a good idea to check the settings to see if they are intact. Also, see the post to which I gave you the link, there were some files that had to be excluded from CCleaners scan. If unticking those boxes doesn't solve the problem, try excluding the files mentioned in that post.

It was Clint that found which files needed to be excluded, here in this post & the next one.

Edit: In CCleaner be sure to also untick the following items under Windows: MS AntiMalware & MS Security Client
