Currently im using Avast!, AntiMalware Malwarebytes, and Glary utilities for system cleanup/tune, but I ended up downloading this program called

SpyHunter4 and it found issues (virus/trojan/malware/creepercookies) but its asking me to pay to remove the selected programs.

does anyone have any ideas for FREE remover tools or utilities?

looks like youre already using the best couple? SpyHunter isnt to be trusted, at least it got itself a really bad name in the past for deceptive issues. I am surprised you could even remove it .. you did remove it yeah?

removed question mark.

AntiMalware Malwarebytes seems to always get top review and stops the most malware etc. More than one seems overkill.
I take another rout, I just dont visit sites or download stuff that potentially could cause issues. Prevention is better than the clap as my Grandma used to tell me.

Spywareblaster is worth a mention. You need to update manually as they put out an updated malware list everyday, the only difference I know of between the free and paid version is automatic updates. I could be wrong.

Hope that helps.

As for a general uninstaller I don't think you can get much better that Revo Uninstaller. They have a Free as well as a Paid Version. This can be very helpful in getting rid of stubborn program installations.

I only use MalwareBytes. As a matter of principle, I would NEVER pay a company for a program to clean the PC as the incentive is for them to claim your PC is infected , even when it isn't because you won't pay them unless they convince you that your PC is infected.

Booting in "safe mode with networking" is a necessary step and one that many choose to skip and MalwareBytes will have a much better chance of cleaning the device if it's run in this mode...

Hey mate,

If you're looking for a Microsoft option, here is a great page to remove the serious threats: Remove Malware | Security Solutions

To remove even more, after the heavy stuff is gone, use Malwarebytes (as suggested) to dig deep (and safe).

download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.

  • Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
  • After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
  • The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
  • A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.
Using AdwCleaner v3: Scan & Clean:
Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool again.
Click on the Scan button.
AdwCleaner will begin to scan your computer like it did before.
After the scan has finished...

This time click on the Clean button.
Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open automatically (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.

Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

  • Shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts.
  • Right click over JRT.exe and select Run as administrator on Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click on XP.
  • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
  • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete.
  • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
  • Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next reply message
  • When completed make sure to re-enable your antivirus

That is because of a bad redirect. The Microsoft page I posted has a lot of links to fix it, to remove the heavy stuff before you can get malwarebytes.

You'll need a clean computer and a USB drive to start, moving the following tool from the clean computer to the infected one to remove malware:

1. Free Malware Removal Tool | Anti-Malware Scan Software - You could follow delvin1888's advice and download that tool to a USB drive to use. Or you could try both. It can't hurt.
2. Browser Hijacking | Browser Hijacking Fix | Browser Hijacking Removal

All looks clean there,

RKill is a program that was developed at BleepingComputer.com that attempts to terminate known malware processes
so that your normal security software can then run and clean your computer of infections.
Please download Rkill by Grinler from one of the links below and save it to your desktop.

Link 1
Link 2

  • On Windows XP double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • On Windows Vista/Windows 7 or 8, right-click on the Rkill desktop icon and select Run As Administrator
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
  • Do not reboot the computer, you will need to run the application again

Swiftly followed by

download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit from here

  • Unzip the contents to a folder in a convenient location.
  • Open the folder where the contents were unzipped and run mbar.exe
