I have only one administrative account associated with my Windows 8 PC. I have this said account password protected yet my child can bypass the logon screen by merely reseting the PC. What kind of security is this?
How can I go about setting it up so that a password is require regardless of whether the PC is reset or not?
How are we suppose to go about keeping our children from unmonitored PC access if they can simply reset/shut down the computer and bypass it?
Can someone please help as I have looked at multiple settings in the security section and have found nothing that will work.
Thanks.

Depending on your motherboard you can password protect your PC from Booting. Hippsie's way is nicer as at least they can turn it on and play in an environment you create for them.
Here is a random pic from the internet. BIOS passwords means nobody gets in unless you let them
2 x Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO (OS / Other)
1 x Kingston 120G HyperX SSD (Swap)
3 x Seagate SATA III 2TB Barracuda (Data Drives)
1 x Seagate SATA III 1TB Barracuda (Media to XBox)
1 x W/Digital SATA II 300G VelociRaptor (Image)

Nah, you just pull the mobo battery for about 10 seconds and plug it back in. Or, use the BIOS jumper to clear the current BIOS. Very easy to work around that one.
Thank you for all that responded but unfortunately very little of this information was actually helpful as I still have the very same problem as before. I did create multiple accounts but I don't see a way to access or do basic editing to these accounts. I can't even change the account name or picture for goodness sake.
This is frustrating beyond belief. After establishing 3 additional accounts, as well as associating them all with individually passwords per account. Guess what happens once I hit the reset button on the PC....It boots right back up to the start screen, NOT a logon screen which prompts the user to put in a password like it should. This is so frustrating it's not even funny.
I don't know what else to do....
