    Antimalware service executable

there is this one annoying service "Antimalware service executable" ; always running in the background ; always eating memory and disc.

I use VMware these days for my work; I previously had 6gb ram (4+2); the 2gb ram blew up; leaving me with only 4 GB's of memory

everytime I open the task manager; this f***ng SOaB is always running and eating up my memory: also writes in my hard disc with 10 MB/s or 20 MB/s

When I was on Linux; this never used to happen; no OS process writes to the disc or eats the memory.

PLS advice if something is wrong with my system or WIN 8.1 Pro (on a core i5 vPro is) is the deal

Oh, you can disable Defender but if you are running without any protection, you'd be in trouble in no time. No AV can be useful if it is not running a service, resident in memory and intercepting and checking everything. Linux is "safe" because there's very little malware for it, Windows is a very large "target". so there'sa lot of malware for it out there.
