Hi,
I'm running windows 8.1 on my asus x550 laptop, the issue is windows firewall can't be turned off, and when it is on it blocks everything including the browsers and also kaspersky antivirus 2014.
I use tiny wall instead of the default firewall, the problem is when I turn off the windows firewall, it switches off ,but comes back on automatically in about 2 mins and blocks all internet access again. So I decided to manually disable the service from, local services that doesn't work either,it says if I do that even tiny firewall will go off.

How can I fix this issue? Things were smooth sailing with windows 7:/

I would guess your having a conflict with all the firewalls.

Kaspersky AV has a built in firewall that should disable Windows firewall. Add Tiny Wall & now you have 3 struggling for control.

Might be a good idea to uninstall Tiny Wall, then let Kaspersky set up the parameters for the firewall settings. If you installed Kaspersky while Tiny Wall was present, you may need to uninstall/reinstall Kaspersky so that it sets up the correct configuration.

Thanks for the reply, I thought that too initially,so I uninstalled both TinyWall as well as Kaspersky AV,But still the same issue,I have no internet access at all (this is with no 3rd party software installed, just Windows firewall on),I made sure that chrome is in the list of allowed programs as well.
Though IE works fine, which is as good as useless :\

Which essentially means my laptop is as good as useless at this point.

So only IE can access the net. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the problem browser(s) to see if this fixes it?

Try running a SFC /SCANNOW to see if perhaps some of the OS files need repaired. Be sure to run it 3X since SFC doesn't always fix everything on the 1st or 2nd pass.

Another option would be to run a refresh. Start fresh & this time only install Kaspersky.
