Windows Defender hasn't done so well in recent tests by various organizations that test antivirus software.. Just do a search for it and make up your own mind.

Windows Defender has served me well over the past few months. I would say for the average user who doesn't engage in malicious activity, Windows Defender is just fine.

Thanks for the input. I had used McAfee probably ever since it came out, but their service and etc as far as keeping my account updated and just getting tired of working with them so thought I would look into Defender.
