Youtube Malware, please block in router

The Wild Wild Web: YouTube ads serving malware | Bromium Labs

    Block access to:

    foulpapers.com
    aecua.nl
    SMIS.CC

In addition, as I always suggest, best to use Firefox or Pale Moon with add-ons like NoScript, Adblock Edge, BetterPrivacy, Ghostery, Disconnect, HTTPSEverywhere, Refcontrol

If you do not control your router, then you can add these lines to the hosts file of your machines instead:

    127.0.0.1 foulpapers.com
    127.0.0.1 aecua.nl
    127.0.0.1 SMIS.CC

Thanks for that tip! Did you find out the hard way? If so, were you protected? Just curious...

No, no. I'm very slightly superstitious, so I will refrain from any seemingly arrogant comment....but a non-arrogant way to say it is that I generally don't ever deal with anything like this at all, knock on wood. heh

I keep up on security and 0day. I'm white hat. Way back in the days, on IRC and the like, not so white lol.

So when I come across something that has the potential to affect a large mass of people like the above, I think it well to notify people, like on here.

    You're welcome.

Thank you for refraining from arrogance in your response because I meant no harm in asking. I just wanted to know what happens when one clicks that link and I was specifically concerned about any curious individual that might not be protected. That was my only intent so thank you for your kind response.

    Respectfully,

Ya ya, no doubt. Basically, all I meant is that it's gotta be a really, really bad day for me to get something like this. I'm only human, so I suppose it can happen.

(The minute I say "I never get this stuff" is when I will lol.)
