The host file is most often used to deny any communications between any devices based on IP address. The reverse is also true, it can used to map static routes to known devices. More or less it allows for access control.

You are right on - I downloaded EMET and was "lost" - seemed very difficult. Installed MBAE and it's running fine with no problems and very little effort on my part. For someone not particularly technically inclined, like me, I recommend MBAE. Just be sure to check that all programs you have installed and running presently are compatible.

Hopping in,in this thread and confirming that MBAE is working smooth and has not used more than 2.7 MB of memory so far.Says it has blocked an attempt, would be nice to know which application it is reffering to,log doesnt seem to "answer".Everything looks still functional.

I think you can check in the logs, and it'll tell you which application it is referring to.

One thing I did note about it, in some cases you might have to disable it to allow an upgrade of certain programs. When VLC came out with an update, Anti-Exploit wouldn't allow it, I had to disable it temporarily in order for the upgrade to proceed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Windows 8 got a built in reader?
