why do you not like mcafee? i know nothing about these programs - still have NIS sitting in my just-retired computer (good until next sept) but decided it was easier just to stay with mCaFEE for the time-being .Also when i registered to stay with McAfee they updated me to newer IS version for 3-computers...i could always transfer NIS ...so much gymnastics setting up this new machine i took the 'easy' way out right now - thanks so much for any input - Edythe

For me ESET Cyber Security Pro is the most user- & system (recourses) friendly AV I've ever used! Use it both for MAC OS X / Windows 8 Pro x64!

My memory of norton goes back over 5-8 years. When Norton kicked in to do anything, it took over my resources, if I had been playing a game, it went either super slow or crashed. If using Word etc, typing became delayed by up to 15 - 20 seconds. General usage was a calamity. Eventually, got rid of norton and the pc came alive, never went back. Then later on, I spotted the symantec folder hideen away, it came to light when something I was trying out told me I had spyware IN symantec folder! Norton was 'watching me' - BYEEEEEE

If you get along with McAfee, that's fine. I had all kinds of problems with it in the Vista days and since then I avoid it. Personal choice.

Today's NIS is different. But maybe McAfee is different too. Personal choice.

I did have a try at Norton 365 (I think it was called) now that was horrendous. Couldn't wait to get it out and refunded
