BackGroundContainer.dll

I have an HP desktop running Win 8.1. I am having no problems but the last couple of weeks when I start up my computer I get the following message: "There was a problem starting. C/users/Frank/appdatta/local/conduit/Backgroundcontainer/backgroundcontainer.dll. The specified module could not be found."
I then checked the path and the folder "conduit" is empty. I checked Control panel and I have nothing installed that would be causing this. Some time ago I did download and install some free ware and it put a lot of other junk on. I don't remember what the free ware was, but I have since uninstalled it along with all the other junk that it installed.

Seems to suggest that it is part of malware files which makes sense as you downloaded freeware/junk.

Thanks, Barney. I download and installed AutoRun. It's very interesting and it has a lot of information when clicking the "help" tab. I'm going to do some reading so that I understand it. I'm sure I can use it for other issues, too.
