    As far as I read Windows Defender was an "updated" version of the current MSE in Win 7. I just read that cause I was wanting to install MSE.

    I meant for Win 8. For Win 7 its true that MSE is an "improvement" or a total different thing that is better than Windows Defender. But Windows 8 it seems basically that Windows Defender is MSE with the name Windows Defender. I have yet to run it, but it's being update constantly..once a month or more maybe so it can't be that old Windows Defender. Their goal is getting all malaware, spyware, etc protection protection into that program i think

Solved Cannot get into safe mode in General Support
Hi, My computer lock-up after 2 secs log into windows (due to drivers problem). I need to boot my computer to safe mode directly and use driver sweeper to fix the problem. However, I'm not able to get into safe mode. (F8, Shift+F8) doesn't work neither. I'm using Windows 8 Pro MSDN version.
