    Windows 8 Security

I am using Windows 8 built-in security being, Windows Defender and Windows Firewall... I am also using Malwarebytes Pro and Internet Explorer 10 with ActiveX Filtering, Tracking Protection and SmartScreen Filter. My question is do you think that is sufficient or do you think that one should turn off Windows Defender, Windows Firewall, not use Internet Explorer 10 and install a third party antivirus, firewall and browser? I am searching for opinions, I know how to search the web and stay virus free but other users tend to get lost and go where ever.

Everything out of the box on Windows 8 is sufficient.

Thrid-party installations will lead to issues that require removal tools and so on, and are generally more of a hamper on system resources than Defender

I think you're fine. I'm running the same things, although I'm also running CCleaner, primarily for cleaning up the registry as I frequently add/remove software.

what you have now is just fine, you can add CCleaner to clean up files but unless you know what you are doing stay away from the Registry Tab

Post your ideas/suggestins/wants for improvements to be added to the next version of Windows. I'd like to see UAC improved. More information about exactly what's going on could be handy. Bit-locker available in more versions and not just Ultimate. What do you all want to see?
