    Action Center says virus protection turned off

    I recently had to do a factory restore on my system. I reinstalled Norton Internet Security using the existing product key I have. Today my action center says virus protection turned off;

    Click image for larger version

    I hit view Antivirus apps and this comes up

    Click image for larger version
    I click on Norton Internet Security then click turn on, this is what pops up

    Click image for larger version
    I click on yes, I trust this publisher to run this app, However nothing happens. It still says that Norton Internet Security is turned off. I went into Norton Internet Security, it says that my system is secure and even ran a full system scan for good measure.

    Click image for larger version

    Is there a reason why action center is saying that antivirus protection is turned off?

    Sorry I didnt get back sooner but the problem seemed to fix itself. I rebooted my computer and action center says that norton internet security is turned on. No more popups saying it's turned off. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks.

    Just my observation that this often happens when your virus definitions need to be updated. So, if you leave your PC off for a few days and turn it back on, you may receive this notice until your definitions get auto-updated. This happens quite frequently on one of my laptops that is seldom used. Hope this helps.
    Good luck.

    For Norton, If you forgot to apply the patch after updating (like what happened to me) the message will popup and will not be removed, apply the patch in the live update of norton and viola. no more message. I hope i've helped

Hello all, So, first off, I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro, just so you know. Now, I run a routine maintenance on my laptop each week and part of that routine consists of using the "Check for Solutions" function in the Action Center. I've done this every single week I've owned my laptop, without...

OK, I ran across this thread https://www.eightforums.com/general-support/43568-i-m-unable-set-startup-program.html#post363386 and decided to give it a shot. Shortcut on desktop works fine. Solved Action Center pitching a fit in System Security
OK, this just started. Action Center is telling me that Windows Firewall isn't running. Well, according to Services, it starts automatically and IS running. Then it says that Windows Defender is off. Uh, DUH! I have Kaspersky Internet Security installed. 43102 I click the button to turn on...
Action center issues in System Security
I have Kaspersky 2013 installed on my computer, and when I open the program it says that everything is operating fine and my system is protected. -My new Packard Bell laptop with Windows 8 came with a ready-installed copy of Norton Internet Security which seems to have worked well for now: It shows I have protection on (both on the program, and on the Google Chrome plug-in).
