The only way is to edit imageres.dll, but it's better to leave system files alone...

FWIW, ResHacker should help you find resource 78 in the aforementioned DLL. I'm not going to provide detailed instructions, because messing with system DLLs is a bad idea, especially since you don't know what you're doing.

Not only I don't see a valid reason for your desire to get rid of the icon, but also system DLLs tend to restore when you run sfc or apply updates.

imageres.dll is a critical system file and protected from modification. By default even someone logged as an admin will not be able to modify it. It is possible to do so but you had better know what you are doing. I think it would be irresponsible to help with this, particularly when unnecessary.

Ive folowd the bellow method. Didnt remove it. Now Im asking if ther will be other negative consequences ?

The following procedure removes the shield overlay only from icons and Start Menu items, which means that the shield overlay will not be removed from Control Panel applets and context menus. Here's how to do it, once and for all:

Make sure UAC (User Account Control) is disabled by moving its slider to the lowest position.

    Open the Command Prompt.

Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each line:

    taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
    CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
    DEL IconCache.db /a
    shutdown /r

NOTE: The last command will restart your computer, so make sure you save your work BEFORE executing those 4 lines above!

If you ever experience the shield icon again (I believe that's impossible now), just repeat the third step. Good luck!

You simply purged the thumbnail cache. Actually, you could use cleanmgr without going into all this trouble. And no, it couldn't solve the problem. In fact, there's no problem at all, it's just you're making it up
