Which Anti Virus Should I Use To Protect Windows 8 ?

Hello Guys, previously I had A trail version of McAfee Total Protection 2013 but now its going to expire. So now I need a premium Anti Virus.

So my question is that which antivirus should I buy? Money is not a factor but I need A very very powerful Anti Virus to protect my both Windows 8 and my Laptop from any kind of Virus,Worm,Hacking,Internet Attack. So please can anyone suggest me the best and the most powerful Antivirus in the market.

    Thanks.......

    Narayan,

I have used Avast (free) for years without issue and it always blocks malware "before" it can be auto-downloaded from a website; therefore, I have never been infected; period! Now, you can obviously pay more but even the Avast Premium packages are overkill IMHO. I think if you try it, you'll like it, and you'll save a few bucks in the process. Good luck.

    OK Thank You Very Much,

But I don't want Free Antivirus because my PC is connected to the internet for the whole day and I need A very powerful AV for my PC which will protect my PC from theft because there are many personal information stored on my PC and many other informations are there. So please can you suggest me a good premium antivirus. No matter whether it hogs system resource.

I was thinking about the following AntiVirus:-
=> Kaspersky PURE 3.0 Total Security
=> Quick Heal Total Security 2013

Which one would be better of these?

I used Avast as well until I upgraded to Windows 7. I've used Windows Security Essentials since then. And of course WSE is now Windows Defender and built right in to the Windows 8 install making it unnecessary to install it independently.

It's a split jury on whether or not a second security solution is necessary with Windows 8. If you practice safe browsing and use a little common sense, the MS security solutions should be enough. If you prefer to blindly ramble through the web and play whack a mole with hyperlinks then it can't hurt to build a second fence around your home so to speak.

    Hi Spyderbite,

The only thing that I don't like about Windows Security Essentials is that it primarily deals with malware "after" it has become resident on your PC. Now, there are many independent test results available that show Security Essentials is "very weak" in the prevention category but "good to excellent" in the identification and removal categories. Cheers!

Eset NOD32, it actually finds and kills most virii. But it is a little too aggressive, you have to set it up to exclude what actually is not a virus, many tweaks and tweak apps show up as an exploit, which in fact they are else they would not work. If you think you've got something bad, try that. If not, Windows Defender should work fine. The problem with 3rd party and even MSE, is that they slow the system down by a noticeable rate.
