    Anti Virus Software

    Hello Windows world

I've just got my first Windows laptop after using Mac for 20 years and so far so good.

    I'm running Windows 8 on a Samsung 350V5C laptop 6GB RAM.

My lapto[ came with a trial version of Norton and being an ex Mac user i've never had to worry about virus protection. Simple question, could you guys recommend a free Anti=Virus program/Firewall?

Also i've read a few things on general maintainence but being new to all this does anyone have a link to a laymans guide to maintenence i.e. what could/do i run on a weekly/daily/monthly basis to keep my laptop clean?

I'm a light user just surfing the net/playing music/email etc.

    Many thanks and kind regards

I would suggest you to uninstall Norton and try AVG2013 free AV with windows firewall.

You do not need any third party anti virus with Windows 8.
The in-built Windows Defender is good enough for average protection.
