Best Antivirus for Gamers ??

So I have this so called Windows Defender , Microsoft said that its the new MSE of Windows 8 , Anyone know a better AV program for Gamers ? that wouldnt cause much lag like ESET , ESET works for windows 8 but its paid

I can't see how defender can induce lag in any of the heavy online games I play. Was playing on a PlanetSide II server with over 800 players and it was smooth like a knife in butter.

1. This thread is about anti-virus, not firewall.
2. None of Comodo's products work on Windows 8 currently (or didn't last time I tried).

I tried commodo in the past two weeks and corrupted my system , need to do a system restore and change my AV to AVG 2013 .

I test AV at a large Fortune 10 company and we use Symantec Endpoint Protection v 12 at work and almost all of us use Microsoft Security Essentials on Win7 and the built-in Windows Defender on Windows 8. I also use MalWareBytes at home. I cannot recommend any other products based upon our testing, that's really all I can say...

Well there are many ways to avoid paying. I've been using them for 3 or even 4 years until i got bored and just bought AV

I don't pay for AV, that's my personal policy. I use MSE on Win7 at home and Windows Defender on Win8 and those server me well. I did pay $18 for 5 licenses of MalWareBytes because I've used that software in the past to fix PC's that were infected and it's a very good value.

I’m also a game addict and I’m using Immunet’s free version in windows 8 laptop. You may also try it.
