Windows Defender context menu - scan file(s)/folder(s)?

In reference to this thread here: Windows Defender Cascading Desktop Context Menu - Create in Windows 8

Is there a way to get a context menu to scan individual files and/or folders like MSE does in Windows 7 and prior?

    Hello LovingWindows,

There's a method, but it's not the same like MSE at all. It can only scan folders from the command prompt that only shows if something is found. What it does show is not very helpful either. I'm still looking into a better way, but have found none yet.

It's really not worth using, but you could still do a "Custom" scan in Windows Defender in Windows 8, to then be able to select what specific folders you would like to scan and see in Windows Defender.

    Hope this helps some,
