How to get volume on screen display?

I just installed Win8 on my acer netbook, upgrading from Win7. On my previous os, whenever I changed the volume on the keyboard, a little image would pop up on the screen, showing a bar representing my speaker volume.

This is not on win8. Can anyone tell me what to install to get it back?

You need to reinstall the drivers and other "add on" files that originally came with your laptop.

If you are lucky, Acer will have these for download off their website for your model...

Did you mean the one in the pic or the Acer's original Volume indicator?
As FSeal said, try Acer's Launch Manager Application, volume indicator in the pic works in Win 8RP.
