Whilst I plan on experiementing more, to work out what precisely is affected, I'm noticing something weird in Win8 RTM.
I am using a Nvidia GTX680 over HDMI, taking 7.1 @ 16/48, to an external audio processor.
If I play a .wav file through Windows Media Player, all is normal. Stereo output only, with all channels active but only the front pair carrying audio. If I preview some audio from a music vendor through IE10 I get audio from *all* channels.
This is unusual behaviour, which I have never noticed prior. It is similar to if I left the audio output over HDMI to stereo and my external processor was set to "all channel stereo". Which I wouldn't do, heh.
Anyone come across this, or have any ideas what is happening here?
Cheers
