First of all here goes I have a internal built in microphone for my laptop hp stream windows 8.1 plus I have a microphone built into my gaming headset and a microphone built into my webcam plus I have a more advance one that mounts to the desk.

I have like 50 microphones it seams but I can't really handle them.

I was wondering if its at all possible to set up just the one microphone that is mounted to my desk.

The microphone was to be plugged into a microphone jack but I only have a headphones jack. So I recently received the USB cord I purchased from amazon.com and I have it plugged in and its saying that I have 5 microphones.

I want the main one to be the mounted microphone.

Is there a way to set it up as a default or to just pause or mute the other ones.

I just want to use the one that I can plug in and unplug when I want to use it and don't want to use it.

Plus what can you suggest for a free microphone tweeker.

I want to set up the microphone but not to sure how to.

Plus is there any free programs out there that can change my sound to sound more funny or scary kind of like sound editing or sound affects.

I just need the basic on how to set up mu microphone.

Thank you in advance.

You'd need to get a splitter for the combo jack like Amazon.com: StarTech.com Headset adapter for headsets with separate headphone / microphone plugs - 3.5mm 4 position to 2x 3 position 3.5mm M/F: Home Audio & Theater

or possibly one that plugs into a USB port like Amazon.com: Plugable USB Audio Adapter with 3.5mm Speaker/Headphone and Microphone Jacks (Black Aluminum; C-Media HS 100B Chip; Built-In Compatibility with Windows, Mac, and Linux): Computers & Accessories

Setting your default mic is just like setting the default speakers. Rt click on the speaker icon on your taskbar and hit the Recording Devices.

Just for fun when My Son was Gaming with his friends, he'd use Clownfish Voice Changer

[h=1]Agptek 3m usb male to xlr female microphone mic link cable studio audio adapter connector which works ok.[/h]This seams to work fine so far. I have not changed the default mic yet or tried the suggested voice changer.
