    No audio from headphones

Suddenly, when I came home, my headphones just weren't working anymore. Don't know what to do

When I set the speaker as default, the green volume bar still moves up and down, but I can't listen anything on the headphones.
Already tried reinstalling the drivers several times, even reinstalling the Windows, doesn't seems to work.
The headphones works fine on other devices, already tested other headphones on the PC and still no sound.

    Please help

The first thing I see is you have "High Definition Audio Device" and not the correct sound driver. The High Definition Audio Device is the generic, basic function, Driver installed by Windows. First step is to install the correct sound driver.

You didn't list your system Specs so I can say what is the correct sound driver or link you to it.

I just realized the LifeChat LX3000 is a USB headset. USB headsets do not use the PC's sound card. They take digital data and convert it to analog internally in the headset.

Recycle the headset and see if that helps. It will repair any Windows corruptions.
With the headset pluggin in, Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the Microsoft LifeChat LX3000 entry in the Sound section to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall". Unplug the headset from the PC and then restart the PC. After Windows is finished starting, connect the headset and Windows should reinstall it as "new hardware". Try the headset and see if it is working.

Ah, about that, I'm using this headset as a substitute since I can't hear anything from the green jack. The headset works fine but the audio is horrible and it hurts my ears. The headphones I'm talking about in this case are Apple ones, even though they work fine on other devices

I have an iPhone6 and the earbud headset has a special 4 conductor plug, not the standard stereo (3 conductor) plug. The earbuds won't work on standard PC jacks.

But, if yours is different and worked before on the PC, just to make sure, connect them to the GREEN speaker jack on the rear panel for testing.

I had the headphone and mic jack go bad on a desktop case. Fortunately it was in warranty and Corsair replaced the front panel assembly. Another possibility is the front panel audio connection on the motherboard. Check to make sure its still connected. On most modern motherboards the Audio I/O connector is on the lower left on the motherboard.

Yes, I have been using the green jack since the start, the front one always did some kinda of static noise.

I connected the cables again, and still nothing. How can I know for sure that the jack went bad? Also, is it cheap to fix it?

Look inside at the cables. Many cases come with two audio connectors. One labeled "HD Audio" and another "AC97". If you have two connectors switch to the one not being used and see if that makes any difference.

The front panel MAY be able to be replaced. If this is a factory unit I would look on e-bay for a used case and cannibalize the front panel assembly from that case and use it in yours. If its a custom built, the case vendor should have a replacement front panel assembly.

The problem may be the motherboard but that would be the least suspected problem. The front panel assembly would be the least expensive to replace. Unfortunately it will take parts replacement to troubleshoot where the problem is.
