    Windows 8 release preview

If that doesn't work then uninstall the driver for it then let windows 8 install the driver its self.

    Windows 8 release preview

I didn't notice that bit when I looked through it but I can't see why it wouldn't if it worked in consumer preview unless you had the of the website for it for windows 7 installed.
In fact I have noticed alot better compatibility with the stuff I use on release preview than on consumer preview.

On the consumer preview I didn't have to change anything it worked fine from the start. Now it only works when I have headphones in.

Hi carstorm, did you do a upgrade install or a clean install?

Clean Install. There is no way to upgrade from the consumer preview to the release Preview.

I am running out of ideas, I would suggest you to "Reset" after saving all your important work, if that fails do a clean install.

Hi carstorm, there's a new Realtek drivers available, try that before Reset or clean install, might save you unnecessary work.

Too late I already did a clean install. I'll try it anyways though because I still only have audio when I have headphones plugged in.
