Audio stabilizes automatically. How do I turn this off?

I got this HP laptop a little while back, Windows 8. If I play any kind of audio on it it makes the quieter parts loud to match the higher audio of whatever it is I'm playing. I need to turn this off. I record and produce music and it's hard to get the levels right when it changes volume automatically.

What soundcard and what kind of media player do you use for media playback?
Check for "Loudness Equalization" in sound settings or "Normalize" in your media player.

Its probably the Beats Audio, software enhancement to the basic audio hardware.

I have a recording studio (I use Sonar Platinum version). If you want to record and produce music the sound cards in PC's are a very poor choice. Best to use an external USB Recording Interface unit. The recording interface unit will have better Latency, fidelity, etc.
