mp3 not playing

i had all hd deleted . . . don't ask me how. thanks.
i used Stellar Data Recovery and got almost everything back. thank God.
however . . . the mp3 files don't play, i use vlc media player.

newbie, any help is very much appreciated

The Codec for MP3 is probably missing.

The Klite Codec pack should fix it, assuming that is the only thing missing.

Try the Windows Media Player and see if it works.

Hard to tell what got recovered and what didn't.

I doubt it's a codec issue, VLC has codecs for just about everything already built-in, Windows Media Player is the one that usually needs codecs.

I'm not familiar with Stellar Data Recovery. Are you sure it recovered everything else OK? Do other file types (other than mp3) open all right? Stuff like text files, videos, Word Docs or Excel sheets, etc...

What happens when you attempt to play an mp3? How are you trying to play the mp3?
