I normally route audio/video from VLC to my HDMI out on my Raedon card to my TV. After recent installing multiple windows updates and multiple driver updates and a reboot VLC no longer has the option to output audio over HDMI. I am running the latest drivers from AMD. Should I downgrade or does any one have another solution?

Is HDMI set as the default playback device? That is the key and not VLC.

If its not set and can't be manually set, try a recycle and see if that helps. Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the AMD HD Audio and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it should detect the HDMI Audio and reinstall it. This fixes a lot of flakey problems and Windows sound corruptions. May fix your problem.

I did the opposite, sort of, uninstall, reboot. Reinstall, working now! Thanks for the help!

Cool, whatever it takes to make it work.

Thanks for the rep, too.
