Hi All,

Last year I had a problem with a high definition audio device, posted here. http://www.eightforums.com/sound-audio/52453-hd-audio-device-not-working.html

Now I have the same issue again, but this time I cannot record what I hear and there is no Stereo MIx in Recording Devices.

I have tried rolling back the driver, and un-installing it, but no luck . It comes back with that yellow triangle on it every time.

I can hear my audio fine. But cannot record anything.

I have tried the Realtek drivers, made no difference. Looked at everything I could find on the web, but no solution worked.

I have even restored my system, but that little device, stubbornly remains yellow. I assume this is why I can't record.

I actually have 2 HD audio devices in my Device manager, one is yellow, the other fine.

Short of taking my system back to factory settings, which I'm not prepared to do, does anyone have any solutions I can try?

Cheers

Rob

Did you try to delete the driver completely and then reboot. You may get a generic driver, but that may work.

I've used Total Recorder for several years on different versions of Windows to record anything coming out of the speakers or headset, never did find the Windows recorder to be satisfactory.

Hi All,
Yes, Deleted driver and rebooted, it came back with the same yellow triangle on it? Any further thoughts?

I will look at Total Recorder, Berton, Ta.

I just tried downloading the ASUS driver from their site, I ran it and it said NO HD Audio device found, but it still installed. Of course it did nothing. I have run out of ideas. Could it be that something on the motherboard is broken?

After much effort, ASUS and I have come to the same conclusion, the chip on the board has died. So I guess it's get a new board, or use a third-party solution for recording audio.

Thanks for all your help everyone.
