    Realtek ALC892 weird sound output

Hello, I recently bought a new motherboard (GA 990FXA-UD3) and have a problem with the sound card (Realtek ALC892). My speakers are using a rca connectors with a rca to 3.5mm cable to insert in the motherboard (might be the issue but worked fine before).
So everything is fine in the realtek manager when playing the speakers 1 by 1, but when playing music the bass only works if I set the Realtek Manager to register the center/subwoofer as Front speakers. If I set them as they should be (center/subwoofer registered as center/subwoofer in Realtek) sound comes only from the Center speaker. That would mean that the subwoofer is coming from the front speakers(?) Also, when playing videos online (youtube) sound only comes from the front speakers.
The speaker fill and center/subwoofer swap options are missing from the manager and I don't know why.
    Help is appreciated!

What kind of speaker system do you have? Standard "Computer" speakers all have the 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo plugs.

Do you have the Speaker type set for 5.1 or 7.1? In the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound playback panel, click on the "Speakers" Icon (your Realtek) to highlight it and then click the "Configure" button and set the speaker type.

The speaker system is pretty old. It's a Luxeon 5.1 system (and I've set it to 5.1 in Realtek and in the Sound panel, also all the speakers ring out as they should when playing them one by one), I don't know the model but it's pretty old as it's using RCA jacks. The connectors are 3.5'' stereo. I've uploaded a screenshot, so you can see they are connected by two in each connector.

If they work individually in testing, the source and/or media player can be the issue. Many times you don't get surround from 2 channel music. On some computer 5.1 systems, internally in the speaker system its synthesized to 5.1.

What did you have previously that it worked?

I had a different motherboard (Asrock N68C GS FX). The integrated sound card was VIA HD, also long time ago I had another realtek board, but it had the Speaker Fill options, without it it was the same as it is now. Do you know if the newer realtek drivers removed this option or could it be that this card doesn't support them? I might try using an older driver to see if there's a difference.

I've got RealTek on all my systems, but I don't have 5.1 or 7.1 sound so I can't test it on current RealTek. But, I know from the past that there are cases of all the speakers working but not when playing music, for example. I used to work the Dell forums and that was a hot topic on there. Several factors, one being the hardware implementation (e.g. some have it and some do not). There were issues where it worked on XP, for example, but not on Vista/Win 7.

So I tried older drivers and it was the same thing. However as I mentioned in my first post my subwoofer was coming out from the front speakers so I put the subwoofer alone with another connector and set it as Front speakers in realtek and it worked! Now I have bass (weirdest shit ever?). Also now I have sound coming from the other speakers aswell in games and internet. Anyway thanks for your help!
